Industrial Washing Machine Control System

Project Overview

Project Overview:
The Automated Industrial Washing Machine Control System was engineered for the commercial laundry facility at Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel, Lahore. The project involved replacing an outdated, failed proprietary controller with a customized, highly reliable microcontroller-based control board designed and built locally in Pakistan.

Key Challenges Solved:
The original imported electronic controller had failed, halting heavy-duty laundry operations for hundreds of hotel rooms. Sourcing an overseas replacement was cost-prohibitive with months of downtime. ISOL reverse-engineered the system architecture, built a custom industrial-grade controller board, and developed firmware tailored to PC Hotel's operational standards.

Key Features & Engineering:
• Automated Multi-Stage Washing: Automated sequence control for pre-wash, main wash, chemical injection, multiple rinses, and high-speed extraction spinning.
• Precise Chemical Dosing Automation: Timed relay triggering for automated liquid detergent, bleach, and fabric softener injection pumps.
• Water Level & Temperature Management: Pressure-transducer water level monitoring and thermal sensor control for steam heating valves.
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Interfacing: High-torque acceleration/deceleration motor control to handle unbalanced wet linen loads safely.
• Industrial Safety Interlocks: Pneumatic door lock validation, vibration switch shutoff, and emergency stop overrides preventing drum rotation during unlatched states.

Impact & Results:
Restored 100% operational throughput for PC Hotel laundry operations within 10 days, saving over 70% in replacement equipment costs compared to foreign OEM imports, with zero control failures under heavy continuous 24/7 duty.
